Idle hands I attached a keychain “spy” camera that takes snapshots and HD video to an Estes model rocket. I suspect with a C motor it’ll reach about a thousand feet. The hope is the camera will stay in place in a slot I cut to hold the camera in the nose cone. The parachute is merely a backup if the camera manages to fling itself loose from the rocket. There’s a 2 gig mini-sdcard salvaged from an old cellphone. I am not sure it will survive launch, or even be able to take video of rapidly changing scenes. But it will be fun either way. I am guessing the rocket will go about 1000 feet in 6 seconds which means the rocket will average 113 mph. It will be interesting to see if both the software and the hardware of the camera can handle the sudden acceleration.
